Roses Are Pink, Yo-Yos Are Blue

This morning we got up early to trek to the local car boot. There's one every Sunday in Rhyl in the warmer months of the year and I will occasionally pick up small bits and pieces. My mum attends most Sundays so it's nice to tag along and have a nosy, it's surprising how many duplicate items you can find from your childhood!
For some reason I've been eyeing up Yo-Yos recently, I've been seeing them everywhere and picked up this one still in it's packaging for 50p! I remember having one as a kid and being absolutely rubbish with it, I'll learn to walk the dog with it eventually.

I also purchased these lovely clip-on earrings for £1. There always seems to be plenty of clip-on earrings at car boot sales which is perfect for someone who can't pierce their ears. I thought the coral/pink colour of the rose was lovely and the soft green of the leaves had me sold.

Do you like to visit your local car boot to search for bargains?

  2. I'm guessing car boots are similar to flea markets? I do enjoy finding bargains at those. :D

    1. I believe they are the same thing, yes! Isn't it amazing when you find a bargain at the bottom of a box? :D

  3. Admittedly, I've never been to a car boot sale, but I have been to garage sales. When I was young, Mom would take us out on Saturday morning, and we'd take our pennies and quarters and come back with a prize. It seemed like such a simple thing then, but now I know what kind of sleep she was sacrificing. Poor mom. Mothers are amazing, aren't they?
